Daughter Date Night
A couple of weeks ago, we decided it might be fun to try to have a Date Night with just one of our girls at a time. It would be a chance for each of our daughters to have Mommy and Daddy all to themselves for an evening.
Gwen went first.
She loves plain chow-mien noodles so we took her to our favorite Chinese restaurant and ordered up a big batch of them. Then we sat and chatted about all kinds of stuff while silently marveling at how different the dining experience was when we didn't have to referree any sibling disagreements.
After a fun dinner and fortune cookies, we got some ice cream and watched some kids practicing Tae Kwon Do kicks. Then we picked up Maddy and headed for home.
The next weekend, it was Maddy's turn.
She wanted to wear a dress and insisted that I wear one too. And she picked a sushi restaurant as our dinner destination. She sampled the California rolls and ate a few pieces of raw shrimp before settling into a big bento box filled with teriyaki chicken, rice, salad and vegetable and shrimp tempura! Mmmmm! It was good!
Afterward, we got some ice cream and shared our favorite knock knock jokes!
We're going to make a habit of Daughter Date Night! It's really fun!
