B&W Wednesday: Weird Weird Gwen

Gwen in the pool bw

She's so beautiful.

She's so clever.

She's so creative.

She's so.... weird.

I'm not sure that I've ever really been able to fully convey on this blog just how incredibly unique our Gwendolyn is.

This girl totally cracks me up.

She's completely uninhibited and attempts to make friends with everyone she meets.   Today we visited Happy Hollow and she ran into some mean boys who were hogging one particular part of the playground and she just plowed right through them and they let her do it!  They didn't even question her even though she was at least three years younger than they were.  Maybe because she never flinches?  Or maybe because she always brings the best weapons?

She's such a character!   A beautiful princess with the heart of a true warrior!

I'm still at a little bit of a loss for words to adequately describe her so I hope these photos do her justice.

I love black and white photos but the original color photos were pretty nice.  Wanna see?  They're here and here.

A different kind of Easter celebration

For the first time in forever, it was raining on Easter Sunday so we didn't even bother with pretty dresses and portraits.  Instead, we let the girls pick their own clothes and went about the process of keeping them entertained with indoor activities.  Since it was Easter, everything was closed so "indoor" meant "home".

We spent the day hiding and finding Easter eggs and splashing in the pool (hey, who cares if it's raining if you're in the pool?) and, generally, making a great big mess of our house.  We ate yummy Indian food for dinner and the girls were pretty exhausted by the end of it all.

We tucked them into bed at 8:30 and when we went to bed at 10:00, I noticed that Gwen's bedroom door was open at the end of our long, dark, hall.  Then I looked closer and saw that she was sound asleep propped up against the door jam.  I have no idea how long she was sleeping like this but she was so deeply asleep that we were able to take several photos with our powerful flash while only half stifling our giggles and nothing we did woke her up.  Cute!

Then I remembered that this wasn't the first time we photographed Gwen sleeping sitting up in an odd place.  Has anyone followed this blog long enough to remember this photo

What's the funniest/weirdest place you've ever found your child sleeping?
