About us

  • We're Donna and Andrew from San Jose, California. We're parents to Michael (20) and Gwendolyn and Madeline (4). Gwen and Maddy were adopted from China. Gwen came to us from Shenzhen in Guangdong province and Maddy came from Qinzhou in Guangxi province. They're 36 days apart in age (virtual twins!) but were adopted just less than one year apart. This blog is about our family and friends but it focuses mostly on our daughters and China adoption.

What did your sunset look like tonight?

Sunset_2_blog

Daddy came home from work and grabbed the camera and the kids and they all ran out the front door to capture this lovely sunset.  Hopefully our neighbors were too busy looking at the gorgeous sky to notice that our children were in their underwear!

We've been back from China for five days and jet lag is still a bit of an issue.  It's 2:00 in the morning and I'm sitting here sipping a glass of wine and posting sunset pictures on the blog!  Hopefully the internal clock will be back on California time by next week so I can start keeping more normal hours.   The girls are sleeping better but still wake up at least once per night and wonder why they can't go outside and play in the moonlight.

Hi Donna- glad that you are home safe and sounds. Beautiful layout - the sunsets have been gorgeous, haven't they? Couldn't remember when you were coming back so had to check your blog.

Wow..that's a beautiful sunset.

I really hope my being used to very weird hours serves me well when it comes to China travel. Time will tell...eventually ;0)

Beautiful sunset. Don't feel bad, I am not back from a trip yet I could not sleep last night until 3AM due to insomnia.

Beautiful layout! Have missed you are CDS. Glad you are back home and starting to get over the jet lag.

Gorgeous! Hope you kick the jet lag soon!

Beautiful! The weather right now is so incredible and perfect, we should be able to get some good sunsets for the next couple of nights.

I am so trying not to think about the jet lag issue. We've done fine coming in from Europe but China PLUS a little one is way different. Best of luck getting through it.
