Paisley and Polkadots
Unless I have something incredibly personal to write about, I'm going to post on this blog (instead of the private blog). I miss my Blogger friends and I'm reasonably certain that my kids aren't shy and probably won't care that I share some of their life here.
For the last two days, we've had record breaking heat in San Jose. How can a temperature nearly equivalent to my body temperature feel so damned hot? It seems like it should be just about perfect but it's unbearable and we're all stuck inside the house with our noses pressed up against the sliding glass door waiting for the mercury to drop below 90 so we can go out and play.
Yesterday, we dug last summer's swimsuits out of seasonal storage so we could play in the water in the backyard. The instant they saw them, girls wanted to go to the pool and turned up the charm full blast. They finally had to settle for playing with the garden hose instead (an equally exciting option that doesn't require that Mommy shave her legs).
The suits fit so much better this year because we're not wearing a swim diaper. Maybe we'll try swim lessons so they can do something in their bathing suit other than just look adorable.

Oh, I'm thrilled to see that you've opened your blog back up to the public. I happened upon your blog while waiting to adopt my daughter Leah in 2005, and just thoroughly enjoyed your advice, parenting tips, photography and creativity.
The girls are growing up so beautifully, it's great to see their sweet faces again.

I'm so glad you're back!
About a month ago I had been tossing around giving up all my blogs (time issue) but I decided I would just miss it too much.

I am so glad you decided to post more on this blog. I have missed your posts so much and enjoyed following along to China with you guys 3 times. We leave June 3rd for China and will be traveling to Nanning to get our 6 year old daughter. We will also have a chance to meet someone from Grace & Hope who will take gifts for us to the child we foster and her foster family in Qinzhou. Thank you for posting about sponsoring a child through this organization. It has been a wonderful experience watching the child we sponsor grow.

So glad to see you're back to posting on this blog. I just love reading all about your adorable little girls and some of your adventures. Thank you!
Glad to hear they were able to get out & enjoy playing in their swimsuits. They look adorable!

Aww so cute. Love the swimsuits.
I bought Emmy a sand/water table today at Toys R Us. That might be something your girls might like.
They can cool off and be creative. We have to wait for a sunny day to open up our table as its been raining in Chicago area.
Thanks for sharing and glad you guys made it back safe/sound and had a fun trip.

LOVE those swimsuits and the adorable little sweeties in them :0) We are having chilly weather here (only in the 50's today) but I'm thankful I have that instead of almost 100.!! I can't handle extremely HOT!

I had just been thinking how I wish I could keep following your blog........thank you for sticking here! I think our children are growing up on a new frontier of blogging and facebook. I've deleted some posts that I thought might bother Abbey someday before they ever got published and just tried to keep it light fluff, somewhat of a scrapbook.
Love hearing about the girls!
