We wake the girls up each morning at 7:15 and snuggle in the Master Bedroom and watch various kids programming on The Learning Channel (and, sometimes, PBS or Disney).
One particular morning, we moved into the office/playroom and continued the morning lineup while Mommy checked email from a few feet away. Suddenly, I noticed that Gwen was instructing Maddy to "Push Push PUSH!" and, when I looked up, I saw Maddy flat on her back with her feet in the air and Doctor Gwen shouting instructions. I tried to figure out what all this meant and immediately remembered that "A Baby Story" was just showing on TLC.
Like any good Blogger Mom, I grabbed the camera and asked them what they were doing. Maddy mumbled something about "... baby come out" and Gwenny summed up the whole experience by looking straight at me and declaring: "It hurts!"
I'm pretty careful about what they watch on TV because I know their little brains are always processing stuff. The childbirth process isn't something, I believe, we need to shelter our daughters from. It's just a fact of life -- and a beautiful one at that (after college and after finding the perfect husband -- like their Daddy)! This is just one more example of how important it is to pay attention to what they're watching on TV because, good or bad, they DO notice everything!
